2021 COVID-19 QUESTIONS
As we look forward to the year ahead we are still faced with the effects of this pandemic and the restrictions that may or may not affect weddings this year. I wanted to put this short guide together to answer questions you might have. The only purpose of this is to settle your mind regarding your booking with me, as I know you will have lots of other things to deal with.
Hopefully, everyone’s days will go ahead as planned this year but as last year showed us, we do not know what’s going to happen next!
Here is a little guide on what happens if plans change. This is just my personal approach, other suppliers for your wedding will have their own.
What happens if I need to postpone?
If you need to postpone your wedding, whether because of government guidance or as a precaution the following applies;
Change date - please check with me before confirming your new date to see if I am available. I am restricting new bookings still to deal with any rescheduling that may come.
If your new date is available, we just transfer to your new date. Payment terms transfer to your new date and the same process as before would resume.
If I’m unavailable for your new date (and you have no other option but to go ahead) there are two options for you to choose from
Associate filmmaker - I have a select few people that I have arrangements with for this. I will check to see if they are available to film your day. You will continue to deal with me throughout and I will edit the films and deliver them to you.
Cancellation - if you would prefer to cancel and secure a new videographer that is ok, I can send you recommendations. If I cannot secure someone that I have chosen to cover filming your day cancellation would apply.
What happens if weddings are restricted?
If restrictions are in place at the time of your wedding, such as limited numbers & activities, we can discuss closer to the date exactly what will happen but I will be available to film your day. The type of restrictions would determine exactly what happens but I will cater to your needs to create the best film possible for you.
An alternative to this which has been used in 2020 by other couples is to have a small, restricted numbers ceremony and then book a larger party for a later date when all restrictions are lifted. We can discuss how I could help with this too.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?
I understand this has been a rollercoaster few months and this is not the first time, for some, that you are having to think about the possibility of rescheduling. If you would like to cancel your booking that is ok, just give me a shout and we can chat about what you would like to do.
But please know that things will get better and rescheduling is better than cancelling.
WHAT IF YOU OR WE HAVE TO ISOLATE?
I am taking every precaution that I can and once shooting weddings I will be following government guidance very closely. If I were to show any signs of illness I would be tested and you would be informed. I have people that I trust in place to step in to cover filming weddings if I were to have to self isolate.
If I were unable to film your wedding due to infection or self-isolating and could not get cover you would receive a full refund for any money paid.
If either of you were to have to isolate at the time of your wedding, and plans had to change at the last moment, the above procedures of postponement or cancellation would apply.
